Energetics
Energy efficiency. Closed-loop economics and bioenergy.
Paper production is an energy-intensive technology. JSC "Solikamskbumprom" is among the largest consumers of energy resources of the Perm Region. The annual volume of electricity consumption is approximately 1200 million kWh, thermal energy – 1.1 million Gcal.
JSC "Solikamskbumprom" carries out production activities based on the following principles: responsible attitude to energy consumption and minimization of environmental impact. Therefore, the company pays attention to improving the energy efficiency of production processes and the introduction of "green" technologies.
♦ Combined production of electric and thermal energy (cogeneration) at the Solikamsk Thermal Power Plant (STEC) provides savings in natural gas consumption compared to the production of only electric or only thermal energy and is the most effective way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
♦ The new gas-piston power plant (GPP), commissioned in 2019, as well as the STEC, produces electrical and thermal energy in one technological cycle. At the same time, it has a higher efficiency and a lower specific consumption of natural gas: ≈ 30% lower than when using traditional combined technology.
♦ Steam water-tube boiler (SWB) disposes of the bark-wood waste, fibrous sediment and excess sludge from treatment facilities formed during the company's activities. As a result, the company receives thermal energy, the cost of which is 2-3 times lower than the thermal energy obtained by burning natural gas in a refined cycle.
♦ Heat recovery plants on thermomechanical mass production lines (TMM) - modern energy-saving technology provides for the recovery of thermal energy generated during the production of TMM.
About 40% of the thermal energy consumed by Solikamskbumprom JSC in 2022 was obtained through the disposal of production waste and heat recovery at TMM.
